Minicourse: Minimum principles and positive invertibility of linear second order elliptic operators

In August 2024, the Department of Mathematics at UnB and the PPGMAT-UnB will have the immense pleasure of welcoming the renowned Professor Julián López-Gómez from the Complutense University of Madrid. Professor López-Gómez is an influential mathematician, internationally recognized for his profound contributions to Nonlinear Analysis, Bifurcation Theory, and their applications in PDEs. During his visit, he will conduct an 8-hour course intended for all members of the academic community, especially the students. This course is at an undergraduate level with no previous knowledge of generalized solutions, Hilbert space techniques, or elliptic regularity theory. This is a unique opportunity for the education of any student!
