Título: Image Analysis in Fluid and Granular Matter Experiments

Resumo: In this presentation, we show a selection of experiments conducted at the Laboratory of Fluid Dynamics and Granular Matter (GrainsLab) in Puebla, Mexico. We focus on two current lines of research: the Leidenfrost effect, where a droplet of volatile liquid levitates on a cushion of its own vapor when placed on a very hot surface; and the discharge dynamics of a two-dimensional silo filled with magnetic particles. Additionally, we present some of the image analysis techniques employed to extract quantitative information from these systems, along with a description of how the experimental setups are designed and optimized. We conclude with a brief overview of other ongoing research projects currently being developed in the laboratory.
